Dr. Joel Laudenbach received his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine in 1998. Academic appointments in Los Angeles between 1999 and 2002 included the University of Southern California (USC) and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Schools of Dentistry. While at USC, he was a pre-clinical, restorative instructor teaching pre-doctoral students. While at UCLA (2000-2002), Dr. Laudenbach was the director of the Oral Diagnosis & New Patient Admissions Clinic, a lecturer and an academic administrator. Dr. Laudenbach completed postdoctoral residencies in general practice at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles (1999) and oral medicine at the University of Pennsylvania (2004). He also completed a fellowship in geriatric dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania (2004). After completing his fellowship, he was recruited by Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery in New York City. He was an assistant professor and the director of geriatric dentistry, as well as an appointed attending and dental director on the staff of New York-Presbyterian Hospital. He maintained a private oral medicine practice in Philadelphia from 2004-2011. Dr. Laudenbach served as a clinical assistant professor of oral medicine at The University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine from 2005 to 2007. From 2007 until June 2010, Dr. Laudenbach was an assistant professor and clinic chief of hospital and geriatric dentistry in the Department of Oral Medicine and Diagnostic Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Dentistry. He was also an attending on the medical staff at the Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Laudenbach returned to Los Angeles in June 2010 and started a new, private oral medicine practice. From 2010 to 2011, Dr. Laudenbach was a faculty member in the Section of Oral Medicine and Orofacial Pain at the UCLA School of Dentistry and rejoined Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.  

Dr. Laudenbach maintains a private oral medicine practice with two locations in the Los Angeles area: Beverly Hills and Tarzana. He is on the medical staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in the Division of Dentistry & Oral Surgery, Department of Surgery and is an assistant professor of oral medicine at Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Laudenbach provides educational courses to dental, medical and health care professional societies, study clubs and postgraduate training programs locally and nationally.
